We are excited to announce that Intigia has obtained European funding to continue with the development of our neuromorphic processor for predictive maintenance applications. The project, called NeuroCPS4Maintenance, was submitted to the First Call for proposals for application experiments in the field of cyber-physical and embedded systems.
The main objective of NeuroCPS4Maintenance is to develop and validate a new type of Edge AI for predictive maintenance applications in highly demanding industrial settings. The system which is based on neuromorphic technology detects anomalies and warns of failures in advance, providing fast and safe responses in real time.
The neuromorphic processor is a type of Edge AI (Artificial Intelligence run on small electronic boards) that executes advanced deep learning algorithms on a small factor electronic board based on a system on chip (SoC). The processor has been designed to be robust and easily integrable into industrial machinery.
NeuroCPS4Maintance will be developed from March 1 by a consortium formed by the Digital Innovation Hub Industry 4.0, as DIH coordinator of the experiment, ITCL Technological Center, and Intigia, a startup specialized in artificial intelligence implemented in embedded systems.
The validation of the prototype will be carried out in a large industrial company partner of DIHBU, which will be a pioneer in testing this intelligent hardware in an industrial environment. The final objective is to generate a new intelligent hardware product of entirely Spanish origin, which can be marketed.
The generation of the collaboration agreement between ITCL and Intigia to present this proposal has been possible thanks to the previous joint management of DIH I4MSOUTH of the Region of Murcia, managed by CENTIC, and DIHBU.
With this new project, Intigia consolidates itself as one of the leading startups in Edge AI for mission critical and safety critical applications in industrial, automotive and aerospace applications.
The project, which will take place over a period of approximately 18 months, has obtained direct aid from DIH4CPS cascading funding of just over 128,000€, out of a total estimated budget of 172,000€.
